The Climate Action Network has added a widget to their website that estimates how many dollars in subsidies have been given to Canadian oil companies, in the form of tax breaks.

It makes sense for the government to subsidize things that benefit everybody, like firefighting and public health services. It certainly doesn’t make sense to provide subsidies to organizations that are actively harming everybody else, such as by producing vast amounts of greenhouse gas pollution.
